Your role

As Head of Environment, Energy and Climate, you will play a central role in driving and further developing our sustainability agenda. You will combine strategic leadership with operational responsibility, creating structures for success and developing long-term solutions in climate, energy and environment.The role involves close collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders, leading improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance and representing the organization in key industry and expert forums. As a driving force, you will help strengthen our position as a pioneer in sustainability and ensure that we are prepared for the demands of the future.This is a unique opportunity for you to take the lead in one of our most strategic areas and contribute to both business value and social responsibility.


Your main responsibilities include:

Strategy and coordination:

  • Be part of driving and further developing the organization's sustainability strategy. Creating design, structure and order through policies, operating systems and improvement work.

Energy and climate:

  • Coordinating responsibility for climate issues: Coordinating the organization's overall work on climate issues, with a particular focus on the development, targeting and monitoring of Scope 3 emissions.
  • Support strategists in the EU ETS through coaching and decision support and be responsible for reporting energy consumption and CO2 emissions to the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency.
  • Ensure both internal and external control of activity reporting, including audits and administration of emission allowances in the EU Union Registry.
  • Manage issues related to CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism) and ensure that the organization complies with relevant regulations and requirements.
  • Responsible for the energy management system according to ISO 50001, lead the energy management group and participate in external audits.

Environment:

  • Ensure follow-up of environmental performance and work with biodiversity.
  • Monitor, establish and implement and follow up internal environmental requirements, in the business.

Regulatory Affairs:

  • Monitor and contribute to influencing new legislation in energy, climate and environment. Ensure the organization is well prepared for changing requirements.

Sustainability Reporting:

  • Responsible for the overall sustainability reporting of the organization, including the implementation of CSRD, and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

External Representation:

  • Actively participate in research projects, industry forums and conferences and represent the organization in external panels and expert networks.


What you bring

To succeed in the role, we look for a solid background in environment, energy and climate, combined with experience in leading strategic initiatives and building structures for long-term success.

We believe you have:

  • A relevant academic degree, preferably in environmental science, energy, sustainability or engineering, as well as a longer work experience in the field.
  • Experience working with EU ETS, ISO 50001 and sustainability reporting under regulations such as CSRD.
  • Strong strategic skills combined with experience in leading complex projects and building cross-functional collaborations.
  • Ability to understand and influence regulatory issues, as well as experience in representing organizations in external forums and expert networks.
  • An analytical and solution-oriented approach, with an ability to identify and drive improvements in complex systems and processes.
  • A communicative and relationship-building personality that creates commitment and trust in both internal and external contexts.

We see it as a strength if you have experience of Swedish basic industry, preferably mining.
