Drive the development of world-leading process control systems for the iron ore industry. We are looking for an experienced automation engineer to join our team!
We want to lead the transformation of our industry towards a sustainable future. And just as we want to change the world, we want to develop everyone on the journey with us, personally and professionally. Do you want to help shape the future of the world's mining and minerals industry?
As a Senior Automation Engineer with us, you will be part of a dedicated team of eight people working on the maintenance, service and development of our advanced process control systems and automation solutions. These systems span the entire production chain in Malmberget, from mine to rail yard. We mainly use ABB systems, and you will play a central role in optimizing, changing and developing new process sections.
You will participate in different types of projects, from quick short-term assignments to larger, comprehensive projects involving several technology areas. The work includes both application programming and a deep understanding of hardware and networks. We're looking for someone who can understand our processes and create solutions that work in our large-scale production environment.
On-call is included in the position for one week every other month, which means you will occasionally need to deal with emergency issues. We offer some opportunity to work from home, but on-site presence is an important part of the role. We work in a supportive environment where all colleagues help each other, creating a safe and collaborative workplace. You will have the opportunity to develop and learn new things by working with both senior and more junior colleagues in a dynamic and varied work environment.
We are looking for a driven and committed automation engineer who has solid experience in industrial automation as well as extensive experience in electrical, control and regulation technology. We see that you have a technical education at YH, college or university level. Experience of DCS, PLC and HMI systems is necessary, and knowledge of industrial network communication and process industry is meritorious.
You are analytical and collaborative, with the ability to support your colleagues and find solutions to complex problems. Experience of working in projects, both as a participant and informal project manager, is an advantage. A class B driver's license is required and we expect you to be fluent in written and spoken English.
