At Luleå University of Technology, we are looking for a substitute lecturer for the subject physiotherapy. The subject is located at the Department of Health, Education and Technology, which educates nurses, X-ray nurses, specialist nurses in ambulance, anesthesia, intensive care and surgery, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, health counselors and gives a bachelor's degree in psychology. The department conducts research in the main areas of Movement Function and Health Promotion, which in turn contain different sub-areas. Our programs are the physiotherapy program, master's physiotherapy, master's physiotherapy with a specialization in orthopedic manual therapy and the health counselor program. We also conduct doctoral education in the subject. Education and research take place in collaboration with county councils and municipalities in Norrbotten County. We are looking for you who are skilled in and enjoy teaching and participating in the development of the subject's education and research. Due to upcoming retirements, we are particularly interested in those who can demonstrate skill in the area of Movement Function - specifically during aging and in conditions that lead to extensive disabilities. Subject description In the field of physiotherapy, movement is seen as a means to health and quality of life. Research in physiotherapy is concerned with movement and its relationship to body, function, experience, learning and interaction. The scientific basis includes biomechanical, physiological, psychological, social and existential perspectives. Duties and responsibilities As a deputy lecturer in physiotherapy, you are responsible, together with professors, lecturers and assistant professors in the subject, for the development of the subject of physiotherapy at both undergraduate, advanced and postgraduate levels. The position as a lecturer in physiotherapy includes teaching, supervision and examination of physiotherapy students. You will primarily teach physiotherapy at undergraduate level in your specialist area. You will meet students here at the university and via online platforms. Qualifications Qualified to be employed as a lecturer are those who: - A university degree of at least 180 credits or equivalent - demonstrated pedagogical competence - completed a course in higher education pedagogy corresponding to 7.5 credits or otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge When assessing applicants, experience and skill in managing and developing activities and staff will be valued. Good interpersonal skills, flexibility and the ability to work independently will also be important qualities in the appointment. The ability to interact with the surrounding community and to communicate research, as well as to develop national and international contacts and networks is important. Merits for this position are (in no particular order) - Licensed physiotherapist/physiotherapist - Ability to teach in a Nordic language (Swedish, Norwegian, Danish) and/or English - Experience of supervision and examination of degree projects at undergraduate and graduate level - PhD degree with relevance to research in the field of musculoskeletal function - especially in ageing and in conditions leading to severe disability - Knowledge and skills in motion analysis and biomechanics Information to be provided The position is located at the Department of Health, Education and Technology and is mainly linked to the physiotherapy program.
