Job duties

Are you as passionate as we are about safe and environmentally friendly shipping? Are you an initiative-taking, open and communicative person with a high degree of sense of service? In this position as an educator, you also work as a simulator instructor and in parts of the year also as a commander. We have taken a big step forward towards new technology and new types of energy, where a major focus going forward is on developing the skills of our staff and developing new ways of working. The placement will be in our training center in Järvastaden, the largest part of the service takes place there. The command period is done in a geographical area in and around Stockholm.

Travel occurs. In the role of trainer, you are an important link in the ferry company's competence development. You create conditions for active learning by teaching, motivating and developing others. As a trainer, you are also involved in new training, refresher training and further training of the shipping company's employees, but also external customers.

The position also includes the role of simulator instructor. The role creates the conditions for students and trainers to get the best possible use of the simulator facility. You instruct, train and motivate students in simulator courses using the simulator as an educational tool. You need to have a good understanding of the system's possibilities and advantages, as well as its capacity and limitations.

Qualifications

As a person, you are independent and proactive; you see what needs to be done and act accordingly. To succeed in the role, we see that you have a great interest in new technology and new working methods in the shipping industry. You need to have a pedagogical approach and a great interest in sharing your skills and experience with others. You are driven by solving challenges and problems both independently and together with others.

We are looking for you as

  • is actively serving on board the Ferry Company's ferries, or on board the rest of the merchant fleet
  • has expertise in planning and implementing training courses
  • at least holds ship officer class II, engineer B degree or engineer officer class VIII degree
  • has undergone basic safety training (basic training) according to STCW Manila
  • have valid special authorization in crisis management (CCM ) according to STCW Manila
  • minimum have SRC certificate
  • is used to using digital tools and support systems
  • can express yourself well verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English
  • have Swedish/Nordic/Swiss/EEA citizenship
  • have a valid medical certificate for seafarers with deck duty, lowest internal speed

It is meritorious if you

  • has documented educational training
  • have experience working with simulators
  • have higher qualifications/education or other experience that we deem relevant
  • has ADR training
  • has experience of working on road ferries
