We are now looking for two mother tongue teachers in Swahili.
Work tasks
The work as a mother tongue teacher is an itinerant position that is governed by the student base. This requires the teacher to travel to different schools within the municipality - both centrally and to the municipality's peripheral schools to meet the students. The position of mother tongue teacher can include the following different tasks: mother tongue teaching, study guidance, distance teaching, distance guidance, and support to the Reception Unit as a language support worker.
Mother tongue teaching
Teaching is carried out with pupils in groups or with individual pupils in the municipality's school units from preschool class to year 9 and in upper secondary school. Teaching takes place outside the pupil's regular timetable in the afternoons.
Pupils are taught in the pupil's home school from preschool up to year 3. From year 4, this may mean that the pupil is taught at another school. We offer a bus pass for travel between schools. Distance learning can be part of the service in the municipality's peripheral schools for pupils from year 2.
Your work is very independent and the work as a mother tongue teacher includes planning, implementation, grading and evaluation of the teaching you carry out based on the Swedish curriculum.
Study guidance
Study guidance means that you can have students in grades 1-9 and at Språkintroduktionen in upper secondary school. Study guidance can take place before, during or after the student's lesson time.
You will work closely with the student's mentor and subject teacher planning and implementing the lesson, while providing support in the mother tongue to help the student reach proficiency in various school subjects. You are flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances. You will also support the reception of newly arrived children and pupils, which includes information sessions, learning support, direct support and mapping of newly arrived pupils' knowledge.
Qualifications
You have Swahili as your mother tongue, have documented language skills in this, Swedish B / Swedish 2 and demonstrated very good digital ability. You have teacher training, Swedish or foreign or other educational experience. If you have documented knowledge of several languages or know different dialects of Swahili, it is an advantage.
You are creative, independent, flexible and stress-resistant. You are curious and want to develop and evolve. As a person, you find it easy to establish contacts with both staff and children and guardians. You should have good interpersonal skills, be a good listener and be able to communicate and handle different situations in a constructive way.
