About the position

As a quality engineer, you will work with quality linked to existing production but also contribute to the work of converting existing production to fossil-free production of steel. Before the turn of the year, SSAB Luleå received permission for a completely new production facility for the manufacture of fossil-free steel, which will be completed in 2029. Changed production with delivery directly to external customers means that we need to take further steps in our quality work and strengthen our understanding of customer requirements. The position is located in Luleå and is a permanent position.

You will work to develop and support the business in both operational and strategic quality work. In this, you can have both the role of participation and as a driving / cohesive for improvement work in the quality area. You will have a leading role in the work of strengthening the organization's knowledge linked to quality and customer focus and in ensuring SSAB Luleå's certification within the vehicle standard IATF 16949. You will support the organization in maintaining a certified management system through audits of the management system. In this work, you will participate in the planning of audits but also be part of the implementation of audits both in Luleå and in other parts of SSAB.

Your main responsibilities

• Develop and manage management systems so that legal, standard and customer requirements are met.
• Participate in/drive improvement activities in the quality area, both linked to current production and to our conversion work and the new production.
• Participate in the introduction and then management of certification within IATF 16949 (International Automotive Task Force).
• Participate in planning the work with and implementation of internal, external and customer audits in order to develop the business.
• Work to develop the competence of the business in, among other things, quality and customer focus.

About you

• We would like you to have a university degree with a focus on quality management or other education that is considered equivalent, or well-documented work experience that has provided equivalent competence.
• You have several years of documented experience in quality management, preferably in the steel industry.
• You have good knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 and knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• You have training and experience in leading and conducting audit work. Certification as an audit manager is considered meritorious.
• You have a good ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, in a simple and accessible way to different target groups. You are analytical, structured and solution-oriented. You are educational and thrive with many contact surfaces. As well as being able to pursue issues independently, you work well with others.
