Landmo Care and Rehabilitation Centre is seeking an interested, committed, and professionally confident physician for a permanent full-time position as a nursing home doctor.
Landmo is the municipality’s nursing home and consists of three departments: two long-term care units and one rehabilitation unit with municipal acute care beds (KAD). In the same building, there is a GP practice with six general practitioner positions and one LIS1 doctor. The municipality also has a GP practice in Torpa with three general practitioner positions and one LIS1 doctor.
The nursing home has high professional competence, skilled employees, and well-established routines and procedures. There is close and well-functioning cooperation with home care services, GPs, the municipal allocation and coordination unit, and other health and care services.
Nordre Land municipality is an approved training institution for general practice and has certified supervisors for ALIS doctors among its GPs. The general education plan can be found on the municipality’s website.
The nursing home has a total of 65 beds:
27 long-term care beds
18 long-term care beds for persons with dementia/cognitive impairment
20 rehabilitation/short-term beds
2 KAD acute care beds
As a nursing home physician at Landmo, you will have overall medical responsibility for patients admitted to institutional care. The position is daytime only on weekdays, with a 37.5-hour working week.
Medical responsibility for the physician service, including ward rounds, diagnostics, treatment, and continuous follow-up of patients
Ensure safe and appropriate patient care in accordance with current legislation, regulations, and professional guidelines
Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and treatment planning
Conduct conversations with relatives when needed
Collaborate with nursing staff, GPs, municipal health and care services, and specialist health services
Provide guidance and teaching to colleagues and other healthcare staff
Offer information and advice to patients and their relatives
Contribute to internal training and professional development within the organisation
Actively participate in professional development and quality improvement initiatives
Implement and follow up on procedures and professional standards
Be a visible advocate for evidence-based practice
Ensure patient safety and quality in the physician service in line with current legislation, including the Regulation on Management and Quality Improvement in Health and Care Services
Contribute to the development of competence, structure, and service content
Completed LIS1/internship and Norwegian medical authorization
Specialist in general practice, geriatrics, or another relevant specialty, or currently in a specialization pathway, in accordance with regulations on competency requirements for municipal physicians
Experience in geriatrics, internal medicine/palliative care, and/or general practice is an advantage
Good oral and written Norwegian language skills (minimum level B2)
A valid police clearance certificate must be presented prior to employment
Valid Norwegian work and residence permit
Positive and committed, with a desire to contribute both professionally and personally in an interdisciplinary environment
Strong collaboration skills and the ability to build trust and good relationships
High work capacity, enthusiasm, and sound decision-making skills
Structured, independent, goal-oriented, and flexible
A genuine interest in and commitment to nursing home medicine
