This position reports to: Engineering Manager.

Your Responsibilities

We’re looking for someone who wants to work with advanced process automation and help shape the future of the life sciences industry. As an automation engineer with us, you’ll be part of a dedicated team working on technically complex projects centered around ABB’s market-leading DCS platform, System 800xA.

You’ll work closely with project managers and fellow engineers and follow projects throughout the entire process—from concept and design to commissioning and on-site follow-up, both in Sweden and internationally. Here, theory and practice come together in projects that make a real difference for our customers in the pharmaceutical industry.

We currently have about 65 engineers across several locations and are now looking for more colleagues who want to grow with us. The primary location is Kista, or alternatively Västerås.

The role includes, among other things:

• Developing functional specifications and working with system configuration, integration, and programming in our 800xA and Batch DCS platforms.
• Conducting verification and validation (FAT), including testing (SAT) at our customers’ sites.
• Ensuring that technical solutions meet quality, standards, and safety requirements.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and customers in project and technical meetings, as well as during site visits.
• Work independently on smaller projects or as part of larger project teams.

Your Background

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering or higher, preferably with several years of experience in process automation within the life sciences, food, pharmaceutical, or process industries.
• Programming experience and a strong interest in automation and control of industrial processes.
• Experience with System 800xA, batch functionality, or other DCS platforms is a plus.
• Curious, goal-oriented, and communicative—you enjoy customer contact and building relationships.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong written and spoken proficiency in Swedish and English.
• A Class B driver’s license is a plus.
