This position reports to: Service Project Management Manager.

Role and Responsibilities

We at ABB Electrification are now looking for an electrical power engineer with experience in the electrical power industry who wants to be part of our project organization!

Here, you’ll have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and exciting projects. You’ll serve as the central link in designing the technical solutions for our projects and will be involved from the design phase through commissioning. We’re looking for someone who enjoys challenging projects, takes responsibility, and creates sustainable solutions through a structured and quality-focused approach.

Responsibilities

  • In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to take independent responsibility for the design work while being part of the project team, where you’ll collaborate to ensure sound technical solutions and successful project deliverables for our customers.
  • Ensure that the solution and associated design meet customer requirements, laws, and standards.
  • Examples of documentation that may need to be designed or revised:
  • - Circuit diagrams
  • - Internal/External connection tables
  • - Equipment lists
  • - Cable lists
  • - Layouts (control cabinets, switchgear fronts, rooms/buildings)
  • Gather information from our customers, conduct site visits, and, when necessary, participate in testing and commissioning
  • Support the sales organization at an early stage to ensure the feasible delivery of upcoming projects.


Your Background

Background and Education

  • Practical experience in electrical power, e.g., as a service technician or control systems engineer.
  • A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is preferred (a high school engineering graduate with extensive experience may also be suitable).

Technical expertise

  • A solid understanding of the structure of electrical systems from low to medium voltage.
  • Experience with design in AutoCAD, ElProCad, and/or elMaster.
  • Experience with relay protection, design, and installation.
  • Knowledge of configuration, the IEC 61850 protocol, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting is a plus.
  • An electrical installation license (A or AL) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of ABB switchgear and components is a plus.

  • Structured, analytical, and problem-solving oriented.
  • Committed, meticulous, and goal-oriented.
  • Service-oriented with strong communication skills in Swedish and English, both verbal and written.

Other

  • Class B driver’s license (travel is part of the job)
