Your Role and Responsibilities

ABB continues to grow in the mining industry and is now seeking a Field Service Engineer who wants to help develop the mining solutions of the future together with our customers in Sweden and internationally. With us, you’ll have a varied and technically challenging role where you’ll combine hands-on field work with advanced troubleshooting, commissioning, and the development of modern solutions for the mining industry. The position is based in Gällivare or Kiruna and involves both domestic and international travel.

  • Work alongside a team of specialists responsible for service, maintenance, troubleshooting, commissioning, and programming of mining equipment and related systems.
  • Participate in modernization, upgrade, and development projects to create the mining industry’s solutions of the future.
  • Ensure that work is performed to a high standard, according to the agreed-upon schedule, and within budget.
  • Provide technical support and build long-term relationships with customers through a professional and solution-oriented approach.
  • Contribute to a strong focus on safety, integrity, and sustainable work practices in accordance with ABB’s values.
  • Travel to customer sites in Sweden and internationally to carry out service assignments and projects.

Your Background

  • Technical education in electrical engineering, automation, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in electrical engineering, drive systems, industrial service, or automation is a plus.
  • Experience in the mining industry, elevators, mine hoists, or other lifting and motion systems is considered a major plus.
  • Strong technical understanding and experience with troubleshooting in complex industrial environments.
  • You are organized, responsible, and driven by solving technical challenges together with others.
  • A Class B driver’s license and the ability to travel for work.
  • Strong proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written. Experience with hydraulics, reading technical drawings, and ABB’s control systems is a plus.
