Your Role and Responsibilities

We are looking for a service engineer who thrives in an outward-facing role, helping our customers with troubleshooting, technical support, and modifications to facilities using ABB’s 800xA industrial control system.

You combine high technical expertise with strong teaching skills. By explaining complex issues in a clear and easy-to-understand way, you help our customers feel confident and make well-informed decisions.

You’ll be part of Energy Industries—a division within the Automation business area that delivers solutions and services in automation, electrification, and digitalization for the energy, water, chemical, food, and pharmaceutical industries in Sweden.

We have offices throughout the country, but this position is based in Västerås, Norrköping, Kista, or Storvik. Since the work is largely performed on-site at our customers’ locations, you’ll be expected to travel regularly within the region.

You’ll be primarily responsible for:

• Providing technical support, service contract services, and automation solutions.
• Ensuring delivery and financial follow-up for your assignments
• Advising our customers on technical issues.
• Drive upselling and contribute to the business process through cost estimation and the development of proposed solutions.

Qualifications for the role

To succeed in this role, we expect you to have:

• At least 3 years of experience as an engineer in automation and industrial control systems (DCS/SCADA/PLC).
• Experience in programming/application development, including testing and commissioning (IAT/FAT/SAT).

Experience with the following is a plus:

• System 800xA, Advant Controller, and AC800M Controller.
• 800xA Batch application
• Experience in the chemical or pharmaceutical industry

• Strong proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
• A Class B driver’s license, as travel is part of the job
