Your Role and Responsibilities

Would you like to develop your skills in automation and process control at a global technology leader? Do you have a degree in electrical engineering, automation, or a related field, and are you curious about the industrial solutions of the future? Then this might be the role for you.

As an Application Engineer, you’ll be part of a dedicated team working closely with some of Sweden’s most exciting industrial initiatives. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to combine technology, problem-solving, and customer interaction in a role that offers great variety and excellent opportunities for professional growth.

We offer a flexible work environment where you’ll alternate between working from the office, on-site with customers, and as part of project teams. The role gives you the opportunity to plan and prioritize your work together with colleagues and customers, while enjoying a high degree of freedom with responsibility. Travel is part of the job, as some of the work takes place on-site at customer locations to provide support and contribute to projects.

You will report to the Technical Manager.

In this role, you will, among other things:

• With the support of experienced colleagues, develop into a key player in our delivery of services and system solutions based on ABB’s 800xA industrial control system.
• Participate in the entire delivery chain, from troubleshooting, service, and maintenance to project implementation, commissioning, and long-term customer support.
• Work with the latest technology in close collaboration with customers, colleagues, and specialist functions.
• Be part of several parallel projects and assignments in sectors such as the mining industry, as well as the process and manufacturing industries.
• Contribute to innovative solutions that help our customers develop more efficient and sustainable operations.
• Build a long-term career at ABB with extensive opportunities for professional development, specialist roles, and future career paths.
• Work in an environment where safety, quality, and accountability are always the top priorities.

Qualifications for the role

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a technical education in electrical engineering, automation, or a related field, or has acquired equivalent skills through work experience.
• Have a genuine interest in technology and want to develop your skills in industrial automation and process control.
• Have experience with, or an interest in, service, maintenance, commissioning, and troubleshooting of industrial control systems.
• Knowledge of ABB Ability™ 800xA or other PLC, SCADA, or DCS systems is a plus.
• Communicates fluently in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.
• You are meticulous, quality-conscious, and have a strong focus on safety.
• You are solution-oriented, responsible, and enjoy collaborating with both customers and colleagues.
• Has strong planning and prioritization skills when managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Holds a Class B driver’s license.
