This position reports to the Service Manager.

ABB Electrification Service Sweden delivers critical services and solutions in low- and medium-voltage systems throughout the country—from Malmö in the south to Kiruna in the north. With approximately 60 employees, we are a growing unit focused on being the best in our niche to improve availability, reliability, predictability, and sustainability in electrical power for our customers.

Through a broad portfolio of products and services—including maintenance, modernization, and consulting for low- and medium-voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, relay protection, and related products—we support key industries such as pulp & paper, mining, steel production, energy companies, and public utilities.

In the role of Field Service Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing a team of three regional field service managers as well as our workshop located in Västerås. Our assignments range from installation and commissioning to repairs, preventive maintenance, and the retrofitting and expansion of low- and medium-voltage switchgear. You are responsible for ensuring and developing the availability of field service personnel, including subcontractors and partners, for carrying out field activities in Sweden. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and ensuring compliance with operational processes with the goal of delivering quality, efficiency, safety, and the highest level of customer satisfaction. You will collaborate with sales, project, and contract teams to analyze future needs and develop our delivery capacity.

Preferred locations: Västerås, Karlstad, Skellefteå, Luleå.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure and develop the availability of field service expertise for Electrification Service in Sweden to deliver our complete service portfolio.
  • Own, develop, and implement the strategy for the field service organization at the national level, including organization, competencies, suppliers & partnerships, workshop resources, tools, and equipment, etc.
  • Own, develop, and implement operational processes, instructions, and tools related to your own organization.
  • Ensure the implementation of and compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements.
  • Take full responsibility for the business operations and delivery of service orders.
  • Responsibility for growth and results for project and contract deliveries through collaboration with the project and contract organizations.
  • Represent the field service organization and workshop operations in the local management team.
  • Build and develop long-term customer relationships in collaboration with the sales, project, and contract teams, as well as your own team.

Qualifications

  • Leadership experience in service, industry, technical operations, or similar fields.
  • A strong understanding of service processes and customer-oriented work.
  • Relevant technical education or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with resource allocation and operational management.
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety (HSE/OHS).
  • Experience in project management or improvement initiatives is a plus.
  • A or AL certification is a plus.
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written, combined with strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Structured, solution-oriented, and results-driven.
