Industrial Electrician at ABB Machines

Location: Västerås

Your Role

At ABB, we’re driving the development of the energy-efficient and sustainable solutions of the future. We are now looking for an experienced industrial electrician for our Machines division in Västerås, where you’ll work in a technically advanced environment focused on the operation, maintenance, and development of our test facility.

In this role, you will be part of a team responsible for corrective, preventive, and scheduled maintenance; assist with installations and retrofits; and work on improvements to the facility. You will handle both high- and low-voltage systems as well as rotating converters with various drive systems, and interact daily with production, the local maintenance organization, and external service partners.

We are looking for someone with an electrical engineering education at least at the high school level and many years of experience as an electrician in the power, industrial, or installation sectors. You have a solid understanding of control and regulation technology, as well as applicable electrical safety regulations and standards.

Skills and Qualifications

• Practical experience in troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems
• Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams, circuit diagrams, and single-line diagrams
• Experience installing, repairing, and upgrading electrical equipment
• Mechanical troubleshooting and repair
• Knowledge of measurement technology
• Strong ability to communicate in Swedish, both verbally and in writing
• Meticulous, analytical, and calm in performing work
• Service-oriented and values collaboration with colleagues
• Risk-aware and proactively contributes to a safe work environment
• A or AL certification, with an interest in obtaining A certification
• Desirable: ESA training, experience with high-voltage installations, drive systems, and PLC programming, knowledge of hydraulics
