Technical Product Specialist, Electric Motors for ABB Motion

As a product specialist, you will assist the sales and tender process with technical expertise and information to ensure that ABB offers competitive solutions to its customers. The goal is that the majority of technical questions should be answered locally and that only in exceptional cases will it be necessary to take questions further to the global product organization. You will be involved in technical and problem-solving customer meetings where machine builders or industrial customers need deep technical support in their practical everyday life. This involves traveling in Sweden for about 25% of your working time. The trips are planned in advance and sometimes require overnight stays. Your role also aims to develop the local product portfolio by identifying and compiling shortcomings and improvement potential as well as assisting the local division manager in defining the product strategy. Your location is open to us, we have the main part of our operations in Västerås but alternative location is possible.

Overarching responsibilities:

• Maintain and develop technical competence in your product area through regular contact with the global product organization
• Support to sales reps, customer support and tender engineers
• Development of the local product portfolio
• Support marketing activities related to your product area
• Strategic pricing for local market

Qualifications for the role

As a Product Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring that our technical solutions are competitive, relevant and aligned with market needs. You will be an important link between technology, sales and marketing, contributing with specialist expertise in both internal and external contexts. To succeed in the role, we look for the following qualifications:

• Technical competence in relevant product area, preferably with experience from industrial solutions.
• Experience in supporting sales and tender processes with technical expertise.
• Ability to analyze market segments and identify growth opportunities.
• Experience in participating in customer meetings and fairs as a technical expert.
• Experience in training internal functions such as sales, customer support and tender engineers.
• Good communication skills and experience in developing technical marketing materials.
• Ability to collaborate with global product organizations and obtain relevant technical information.
• Self-starter and initiative with the ability to drive improvement in the product area.
