Your role and responsibilities

You will be part of a small team with us at ABB in Malmö. Where your broad and deep test and electronics experience is crucial. We test and check, in the smallest detail, our control system hardware against the electronics standards (ICP-A-610/600).

Your work is to read drawings and instructions together with the team to understand the quality expectations of the product. To then test the hardware in our test systems. We check products with appropriate methods in our lab. Such as visual inspection of electronics assembly, mechanics and test functionality, comparison against specifications etc. Reporting of test results and deviations in our quality systems Jira and Wats.

Our group's services are needed for product approvals. These are tests when changing suppliers, manufacturers or otherwise changing the manufacturing process. Our group performs the tests and then reports back the results to ABB R&D who act on the points we document in our test reports. Our group is part of ABB's global quality and test team. In Malmö we are 8 people but we are 12 in total globally that are part of the group. We have many ongoing projects so we need to expand our group with one more person, is that you?

Qualifications for the role

  • You should have at least 10 years of experience as a test technician, quality inspector or similar in the electronics industry.
  • Experience and experience in testing and working against the electronics standards IPC-A-600 and IPC-A-610 is a requirement. You should simply have a solid knowledge of electronics testing and quality control standards.
  • English in speech and writing is necessary with your international contacts both internally within ABB and externally with suppliers.
  • Eye for detail, accuracy and responsibility are key words in this work. It is important to be able to have full focus on the details and take deviations further for evaluation.
  • Documented experience as a quality inspector or relevant role (electronic production with inspection) - A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach - Responsible and reliable - Thorough knowledge of quality control standards - Practical knowledge of MS Office - IPC-A-600 Knowledge - IPC-A-610 Knowledge - EMS production
