This position reports to: Project Operations Manager.

Role and Responsibilities

Now, at ABB Electrification, we are looking for an Electrical Power Engineer who has extensive experience from the electrical power industry and who wants to become part of our project organization!

Here you will be a player who will have the opportunity to work with leading technology and exciting projects. You will be the cohesive link to design the technical solution in our projects and be involved from design to commissioning. We are looking for you who like challenging projects, are responsible and create sustainable solutions with structure and quality.

Responsibilities:

  • In the role, you will have the opportunity to take personal responsibility for the design work while being part of the project team where you work together to ensure technical solutions and good project deliveries on behalf of our customers.
  • Ensure that the solution with associated design meets the customer's requirements, laws and standards.
  • Examples of documentation that may need to be constructed or revised:
  • Circuit diagrams
  • Interior/exterior connection tables
  • Device lists
  • Cable lists
  • Layouts (control cabinets, switchgear fronts, rooms/buildings)
  • Gather information from our customers, conduct site visits and sometimes participate in testing and commissioning
  • If you have experience in project management, there is the possibility to also run projects

Your background

Background and education

  • Practical experience in electrical power, e.g. service technician ore.g. as a service technician or control system engineer.
  • A university degree in electrical engineering is an advantage (high school engineer with extensive experience may also be suitable).

Technical skills

  • Good understanding of the structure of the electrical system from low to medium voltage.
  • Experience of design in AutoCad, ElProCad and/or elMaster.
  • Experience of relay protection, design and installation.
  • Knowledge of configuration, IEC 61850 protocols, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting is advantageous.
  • Electrical installation authorization A or AL is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of ABB's switchgear and components is an advantage.

  • Structured, analytical and problem-solving oriented.
  • Committed, thorough and goal-oriented.
  • Service-oriented with good communication skills in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

  • B-driving license (travel included in the service)

ABB Electrification Service is a leading provider of products and services for the aftermarket of electrical power plants, primarily low and medium voltage substations. We strive to be close to our customers and are represented around Sweden - from Gällivare in the north to Malmö in the south. Our mission is to maximize the availability, reliability and predictability of electrical power while helping our customers reduce their environmental impact. We cover the entire lifecycle of the plant from commissioning to replacement.

With us, you work independently but are part of a skilled team consisting of tender engineers, designers and project managers in low and medium voltage switchgear. The rest of the organization consists of salespeople, service coordinators, contract managers, administrative staff and our service engineers who help our customers on site every day.

ABB Electrification Service has about 60 employees in ten locations throughout Sweden. We have a wide product program and help customers to ensure the availability of their installed base. Our customers are in paper & pulp, ironworks, energy companies, electricity grid companies, water & sewage, chemical and mining industries.
