This position reports to: R&D Team Lead.

As a Technical Product Owner, you will be a key member of our team responsible for the Advant Master family - one of ABB's established control system platforms used by customers worldwide. You will have overall technical responsibility for the software that connects Advant Master with ABB's modern automation platform 800xA. This means that you work closely with both technology and business: you drive requirements management, make technical decisions and coordinate our contribution in major system projects.

You will be part of an experienced and supportive team where knowledge sharing and collaboration are at the center. You will work closely with the Product Manager of the product family and have contact with colleagues both in Sweden and internationally.

This position is geographically located in Västerås, Sweden, with the possibility of hybrid working.

Your role and responsibilities

  • You translate system requirements from product management into clear and actionable specifications for the development team.
  • You set goals, remove obstacles and create conditions for the team to succeed.
  • You support our software developers in troubleshooting, lead maintenance work and drive the ongoing agile planning.
  • You work closely with other departments, such as technical customer service on customer issues and our central system test team in India.
  • You are responsible for the product's Change Control Board (CCB) and ensure that changes are handled in a structured and quality-assured manner.

Your background

  • You are a civil or university engineer with experience in embedded systems and/or distributed control systems (DCS).
  • You have worked in a software development organization and are familiar with tools such as Azure DevOps or similar.
  • You communicate clearly, collaborate unpretentiously and thrive in a role where you can take initiative and make decisions.
  • You express yourself fluently in both Swedish and English, in speech and writing.

You will be part of the Process Control Platform (PCP), which is a unit within ABB's Process Automation business area. The unit is responsible for the development, marketing and sales of automation products - hardware and software - as well as for monitoring, control and optimization. The unit has automation products for all types of industries. Digitization provides unique opportunities to connect data from the manufacturing process with other information systems within the company and make the information available in real time.

PCP's organization also includes Quality and Operations, and supports the business units with product training, sales support and marketing communication.
