This position reports to: Service Marking & Sales Manager.

We are looking for a dedicated Tender Engineer for a key role in our organization to grow our business. You will work in our sales organization and close to our customers where you are responsible for determining the most technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions for the modernization and maintenance of the customer's electric power system.

We are looking for you who have experience from the electric power industry and specifically regarding low and medium voltage switchgear including relay protection, like problem solving, are responsible and concerned about structure and quality in deliveries. If you also have experience of electrical construction or working practically with switchgear and relay protection products as e.g. service technician or commissioner, it is a merit.

The service is advantageously located in Västerås but other locations are considered.

Role and responsibilities

  • You are responsible for developing technical solutions from inquiry documents to finished proposals in tenders to our customers for modernization and maintenance services.
  • You support the project manager and designer in the project delivery so that it meets the agreed business, customer needs, applicable standards and provides conditions for efficient execution.
  • You act as a spokesperson towards our factories in terms of local development and adaptation of the service offering.
  • You create the conditions for growing our volume and profitability by participating in product presentations and supporting the development of, for example, marketing materials, product training and price lists.
  • You work independently but are part of a skilled team and have extensive contact with salespeople, customers, project managers, designers and suppliers.
  • You are committed, thorough and like to work towards set goals and deadlines.
  • You are a driven and business-minded person.

Your background

  • You have good technical knowledge in electrical power acquired through long experience in similar roles or practical experience as e.g. service technician. It is an advantage, but not a requirement, if you also have a university engineering degree with a focus on electrical power.
  • You have a good technical understanding of the structure of the electrical system and its products in low and medium voltage switchgear and relay protection.
  • It is highly meritorious if you have knowledge and experience of design in AutoCad, ElProCad and/or elMaster and previous experience of configuration, 61850 protocols, testing & commissioning and troubleshooting.
  • You have knowledge of principles & practices in Electrical Safety.
  • You are service-oriented, cooperative, structured and thorough.
  • You are an innovative person who has a strong drive to come up with qualitative solutions.
  • You are a driven and business-minded person.
  • You are relationship-building and have the ability to communicate clearly, both internally and to external parties, both in Swedish and English in speech and writing.
  • As travel is included in the service, it is required that you have a B-driving license.

You will be part of a team of tender engineers in our service department. The rest of the organization consists of salespeople, project managers, service coordinators, contract managers, administrative staff and our service engineers who help our customers on site every day.

ABB Electrification Service has about 60 employees in ten locations throughout Sweden. We have a wide product program and help customers to ensure the availability of their installed base. Our customers are in paper & pulp, ironworks, energy companies, electricity grid companies, water & sewage, chemical and mining industries.
