Role and Responsibilities

At ABB Electrification, we are now looking for a dedicated Tender Engineer for a key role in our organization to grow our business in relay protection applications!

In this role, you will work with the sales organization and our customers where you are responsible for determining the most technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions for the modernization and maintenance of relay protection products and systems. We are looking for you who have extensive experience in the electrical power industry and relay protection applications in particular, enjoy problem solving, are responsible and concerned with structure and quality in deliveries. If you also have experience of electrical construction or working practically with switchgear and relay protection products as e.g. service technician or commissioner, it is a merit.

You report to Manager Project Operations. The service is preferably located in Västerås but other locations are considered.

Responsibilities:

• You are responsible for developing technical solutions from inquiry documents to finished proposals in tenders to our customers for the modernization of relay protection and systems.
• You take responsibility as a technical expert in your product area and support our service engineers as well as our customers in complex issues in relay protection applications.
• Together with the project manager and designer, package and support the project delivery so that it meets the agreed business, customer needs, applicable standards and provides the conditions for efficient execution.
• You act as a spokesperson towards factories in terms of local development and adaptation of the service offering for low voltage applications.
• You create the conditions to grow our volume and profitability by participating in product presentations and supporting the development of, for example, marketing materials, product training and price lists.
• Work independently but are part of a skilled team and have extensive contact with salespeople, customers, project managers, designers and suppliers. You are committed, thorough and like to work towards set goals and deadlines.

Your background

• You have good technical knowledge of electrical power acquired through long experience in similar roles or practical experience such as service technician. It is an advantage, but not a requirement, if you also have a university engineering degree with a focus on electrical power.
• You have a good technical understanding of the structure of the electrical system and its products in medium voltage and relay protection.
• It is highly meritorious if you have knowledge and experience of design in AutoCad, ElProCad and / or elMaster as well as previous experience of configuration, 61850 protocols, testing and commissioning and troubleshooting.
• You have knowledge of principles and practices in Electrical Safety.
• Electrical Installation Authorization A, AL is meritorious.
• You are service-oriented, cooperative, structured and thorough. You are an innovative person who has a strong drive to come up with qualitative solutions.
• You are relationship-building and have the ability to communicate clearly, both internally and to external parties, both in Swedish and English in speech and writing.
• As travel is included in the service, it is required that you have a B driving license.
