Welding Manager, ABB High Speed Synchronous - Machines

We are looking for you who want to take overall responsibility for the welding area in our advanced production of large and complex electric motors. With us, you will have an independent and broad role where you drive and develop the entire welding process - from method and quality to documentation and certification requirements. We are looking for you who thrive on responsibility, technology and quality - and who want to contribute to our motors continuing to maintain absolute top class in a global market.

You will have a central function in the business, with many contact areas both internally and externally. You work in an environment where quality and technology are in focus and where each engine is unique.

Your responsibilities

  • Ensure that welding is done according to the correct parameters, standards and quality requirements and associated documentation such as WPQR/WPS.
  • Responsible for welding, welding control and welding processes as well as requirements linked to our ISO certifications
  • Support production and work closely with both welders and welding robots and be part of projects where welding is part
  • Be involved in customer issues related to welding and discuss solutions for their unique engine applications
  • Manage and follow up suppliers' welding documentation
  • Contribute to the continuous development of welding methods and working methods
  • Plan and hold internal training for welders and other activities in the field of welding, certifications, NDT.

Qualifications for the role

  • Relevant training and certification in welding, such as IWS, IWT or IWE (meritorious).
  • Documented experience in quality control, welding documentation and work according to ISO 3834.
  • Deficient experience in welding and working in a dynamic production environment.
  • Able to conduct supplier audits and handle deviations with high accuracy and quality thinking.
  • Ability to work independently and interact effectively and communicatively with different parts of the organization
  • Experience in training and supervising colleagues in welding is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both in speech and writing.
