We are now looking for more experienced automation engineers who want to be part of our continued growth journey.

About the role

As an Automation Engineer at AFRY, you’ll be an important part of a team with high technical expertise and a strong focus on collaboration. You will work on projects spanning the entire lifecycle, from feasibility studies and concept development to implementation, commissioning, and long-term management.

Assignments range from the modernization and migration of existing facilities to the development and commissioning of entirely new systems and production facilities. You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with clients and contribute your specialized expertise in complex technical environments where automation plays a crucial role in the development of their operations.

Examples of job responsibilities

• Programming and configuration in ABB 800xA
• Upgrades and migrations from older ABB systems to modern platforms
• System design and technical solutions in process automation
• Preliminary studies, project planning, and technical analyses
• FAT, SAT, and commissioning
• Troubleshooting, optimization, and further development of existing systems
• Technical consulting and support for the customer’s operations and maintenance organization

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, we expect you to have/be able to:

• Several years of experience as an automation engineer, systems engineer, or in a similar role, and be accustomed to working in complex process environments.
• Solve complex technical challenges, take initiative, and value collaboration with both customers and colleagues.
• Solid experience with ABB 800xA
• Experience with older ABB systems, such as Advant AC450
• Experience in the process, energy, chemical, or forestry industries
• Strong proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
• Class B driver’s license
