Are you an experienced Data Engineer who thrives on building stable, scalable and long-term sustainable data solutions in production? At AFRY Digital Services, we are now looking for senior Data Engineers to join our team in Gothenburg who want to work in technically challenging assignments where data engineering is business critical. (This is not a BI role, but a role for those who want to work closely with code, architecture, operations and quality in modern data platforms)

Qualifications

As a Data Engineer with us, you work as a consultant in assignments where you are involved in building, further developing and managing data platforms and data flows that are used for analysis, decision support and further digital development. You work closely with other Data Engineers, Data Scientists and software developers, and are responsible for ensuring that data flows work robustly, efficiently and long-term in production. Assignments vary in length and scope from major platform initiatives to more limited technical efforts both locally and internationally.

Examples of tasks

• Design, develop and maintain data pipelines in Python
• Work with ETL/ELT flows, transformation and data modeling
• Ensure data quality, validation and testability in data flows
• Work with workflow orchestration (e.g. Airflow or similar)

• Build and operate solutions in cloud environment, mainly Microsoft Azure
• Contribute to CI/CD, version management and monitoring of data flows
• Collaborate with colleagues and customers on requirements, architecture and solution design

We are looking for you who have

• At least 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer in a production environment
• Very good knowledge of Python
• Good experience with SQL, databases and data modeling
• Experience in building and maintaining scalable and robust data pipelines
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure
• Experience working in a structured way with Git, code review and testing
• Ability to take responsibility for solutions all the way to stable operation

Additional

• Experience with Airflow, Dagster or similar orchestration tools
• Azure services such as Data Factory, Databricks or Synapse
• CI/CD solutions and DevOps approaches to data flows
• Container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)

You need to be able to communicate professionally in English. Swedish is an advantage for this position, as several assignments and customer dialogues take place in Swedish.
