Company Profile

AFRY offers services in engineering, design, digitalization, and consulting. We are dedicated experts in industry, energy, and infrastructure, creating value for future generations. AFRY has a global reach with deep roots in the Nordic region. Together, we’re accelerating the transition to a more sustainable society.

Job Description

We can’t clone Mats, Rohan, or Carmen, so now we’re looking for someone who, like us, enjoys legislation, standards, and directives—without being too rigid!

Within Compliance & Quality , we are a team of 50 employees working throughout the country. Our team members range from recent graduates to senior engineers with broad expertise in quality, product safety, and business development. Our clients are primarily in the industrial and sustainable energy technology sectors.

As a consultant, you’ll work on-site at our clients’ locations and are expected to take the initiative in your daily work. The role is varied and may include different types of tasks and responsibilities:

  • Participate in development projects and the creation of new products, where you’ll be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations such as REACH, RoHS, CLP, POP, TSCA, and WEEE.
  • Implement and monitor procedures for ensuring regulatory compliance and chemical management.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops.
  • Conduct investigations, risk analyses, risk assessments, and classifications, and implement chemical restrictions.
  • Carry out preventive work, such as creating new procedures to enable the organization to meet legal requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in chemical management.

Qualifications

You have at least 5 years of experience working with chemical regulations and are looking for a job that is challenging, enjoyable, and requires initiative!

You have a technical college degree or engineering degree as your foundation, with experience working with directives, legislation, or regulatory requirements, and in-depth knowledge of one or more product-related chemical regulations such as REACH, RoHS, CLP, and WEEE. We value knowledge and experience with IMDS, Eco Onliner, or similar databases and systems.

To thrive in our close-knit team, you should be communicative and proactive, while also being trustworthy and able to quickly adapt to new environments, industries, and products. To be a good fit for this role, we believe you are detail-oriented and have a structured approach to work, with the ability to plan, compile, and report in writing.

As a person, you’re down-to-earth, flexible, and pragmatic, and you enjoy being part of a team where you take personal responsibility and work independently on your tasks. You’re also expected to learn from your mistakes and enjoy balancing administrative tasks with hands-on work.

Since the consulting role often involves cross-functional interactions and collaboration in an international environment, you need to be proficient in communicating in both Swedish and English. We require that you be able to commute, as our clients are also located in neighboring regions, and we consider a Class B driver’s license an asset, although it is not a requirement.

Additional Information

We offer a forward-thinking workplace with security in the form of collective bargaining agreements and employee benefits for all staff. Our employee club organizes social activities both in and outside the office. Everything from ski trips and choir singing to playing board games—there’s something for everyone!
