Job Description

The Electrical, Automation & Industrial IT section within the Life Science business area is now seeking a PLC/SCADA Automation Engineer  who wants to be part of and grow within automation in an environment where technology, quality, and safety are central to our operations.

About the Role

As an Automation Engineer specializing in Rockwell / Allen Bradley, you will be a key member of our automation team. You will be responsible for developing, commissioning, and maintaining PLC-based control systems in a modern, GMP-regulated production environment within the Life Science sector, where travel may be required.

You will

• Develop and improve graphical user interfaces (HMI/SCADA)
• Implementing and modifying PLC functions
• Working with technical platforms, with a focus on Allen Bradley/Rockwell across different generations
• Ensuring that all automation solutions comply with GMP, GAMP 5, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that automation solutions meet high standards for quality, safety, and regulatory compliance in accordance with GMP and relevant industry standards.
• Serve as a central point of contact between process teams, validation, project teams, external suppliers, and other technical stakeholders.
• Take responsibility for troubleshooting, optimization, and continuous improvement of automated production processes.

Examples of systems and equipment you will work with

• Communication solutions: EtherNet/IP, Profibus, Profinet, Modbus
• Safety PLCs and machine safety systems
• Process equipment for pharmaceutical manufacturing (e.g., reactors and filling lines, etc.)

Qualifications

We are looking for a person who is communicative and team-oriented, with a structured and solution-oriented approach. You are meticulous and quality-conscious, and have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

We believe that you have 

• Documented experience with Allen-Bradley PLC systems and Studio 5000
• Experience in the process industry, preferably pharmaceuticals or another regulated industry
• Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols and networks
• Strong proficiency in Swedish and English (spoken and written)

It is a plus if you have experience with 

• A college- or university-level technical degree in automation, electrical engineering, mechatronics, or equivalent experience 
• Experience with integration between PLC and SCADA, DCS, MES
• Experience with advanced troubleshooting and optimization of control systems
• Knowledge of GMP and regulatory requirements
