Job Description

Our clients are facing major changes driven by new technological solutions, and we’re looking for you to join us and make a difference! We are currently recruiting engineers who want to join us in our drive toward the future of automation and digitalization within Life Science.

The Electrical, Automation & Industrial IT section within the Life Science business area is now seeking a PLC/SCADA Automation Engineer  who wants to help grow in the field of automation in an environment where technology, quality, and safety are central to our operations?

About the Role

As a PLC/SCADA Automation Engineer, you will be a key member of our automation and production team. You will be responsible for developing, commissioning, and maintaining PLC-based control systems in a modern, GMP-regulated production environment within the life sciences sector, where travel may be required.

You will:

Program, configure, and optimize PLC systems, with a focus on Siemens (S7-300/400/1500, TIA Portal, WinCC) and/or Allen-Bradley/Rockwell (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, FactoryTalk). Participate in the entire project lifecycle—from feasibility studies and design to commissioning, validation, and documentation. Perform troubleshooting and preventive maintenance on control systems and process equipment. Integrate PLC systems with SCADA, DCS, and MES solutions. Ensure that all automation solutions comply with GMP, GAMP 5, and regulatory requirements. Contribute to improvement projects and the implementation of new technology.

Examples of systems and equipment you will work with

  • Communication solutions: EtherNet/IP, Profibus, Profinet, Modbus
  • Safety PLCs and machine safety systems
  • Process equipment for pharmaceutical manufacturing (e.g., reactors and filling lines, etc.)

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • At least 3 years of documented experience with Siemens or Allen-Bradley PLC systems
  • Experience in the process industry, preferably pharmaceuticals or another regulated industry
  • Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols and networks
  • Strong command of Swedish and English (spoken and written)

The following are considered a plus:

  • Technical education at the college or university level in automation, electrical engineering, mechatronics, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with integration between PLC and SCADA/DCS/MES
  • Experience with advanced troubleshooting and optimization of control systems
  • Experience in Life Sciences, GMP, and regulatoryrequirements

Personal qualities:

We are looking for a person who is communicative and team-oriented, with a structured and solution-oriented approach. You are meticulous and quality-conscious, and have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
