We are now looking for automation engineers who want to help develop innovative automation solutions alongside a dedicated team of specialists.

Job Description

About the Role Do you want to work with technology that makes a real difference for the industry, while being part of a team where collaboration, knowledge sharing, and people are the focus?

As an automation engineer at AFRY, you’ll work with automation solutions for industrial facilities and the process industry. You’ll be an integral part of multidisciplinary projects where you’ll collaborate with electrical and instrumentation designers, process engineers, and project managers to create sustainable and efficient solutions for our clients.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Programming DCS or PLC systems
  • Configuring and developing HMI systems
  • Working with SCADA solutions
  • Industrial networks
  • Machine safety
  • Testing and commissioning
  • Customer contacts and technical consulting
  • Participation in multidisciplinary project teams

The work is project-based and involves a mix of programming, technical development, customer interactions, testing, and commissioning. Assignments are carried out both from our office in Karlstad and on-site at the customer’s location. Travel may be required from time to time.

Qualifications

About You

We are looking for someone who

Holds a Master of Science in Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Engineering, or a vocational college degree in a relevant technical field.

To succeed in this role, we expect you to have:

  • Experience with programming in DCS, PLC, or HMI systems, or experience in electrical design.
  • Knowledge of DCS or PLC systems.
  • Experience with HMI systems.
  • Strong written and spoken Swedish and English.
  • Class B driver’s license.

It is advantageous if you have experience with:

  • Both programming and electrical design
  • Industrial automation projects
  • Testing and commissioning
  • Customer-focused consulting work.

We offer a hybrid work model, but the primary work location is at the client’s site or at our office in Karlstad.
