Job Description

We’re expanding our team and are now looking for a structural analysis engineer to join our team in Trollhättan!

With us, you’ll work on exciting and technically challenging analysis projects for both Swedish and global clients. We are a team with extensive experience in both implicit and explicit FEM analyses for clients in the defense and automotive sectors.

The Role We’re looking for someone with experience in strength and service life analysis using implicit FEM, preferably from the defense or automotive industries. As a computational engineer with us, you’ll:

• Lead projects where we have overall responsibility for analysis deliverables.
• Work closely with clients, sometimes on-site, often in a hybrid arrangement.
• Develop systems in collaboration with designers, for both automotive and defense products.
• Become part of a team with strong cohesion and high technical expertise.

The work is varied and dynamic, offering great opportunities to both deepen and broaden your technical expertise. Sometimes we follow the customer’s existing methods; just as often, we help the customer develop new methods.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with an MSc in structural mechanics and experience with FEM calculations, preferably from the automotive or defense industries. You are accustomed to working with tools such as ANSA and OptiStruct/Nastran or Ansys, and if you also have knowledge of Abaqus, we consider that a major plus.

We’d prefer that you live in or are planning to move to Trollhättan or the surrounding area, and that you’re interested in building your career here over the long term. A driver’s license is a plus, as some client assignments may require travel.

• You have several years of experience in the field and are accustomed to working independently.
• You are a good communicator and find it easy to build strong, professional relationships both internally and externally.
• You thrive in a team and enjoy collaborating to achieve the best results.
• You are curious, committed, and able to quickly familiarize yourself with new technical areas and work methods.
• You represent AFRY in a confident and professional manner and welcome new types of assignments.
• You have strong communication skills in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing, and can present analysis results in a clear and informative way.
