Job description

We are looking for an experienced and qualified Chief Accountant for AFRY AB, a Swedish listed parent company with global operations.

The position is a central function within the Group's finance organization and entails overall responsibility for accounting, analysis and financial reporting according to both RFR2 and IFRS.

About the position

In the role as Chief Accountant for AFRY AB, you will be responsible for ensuring correct and appropriate accounting in accordance with current regulations. You will work closely with Group Financial Control and be a key person in both external and internal reporting processes, including annual and quarterly reports. The position also includes responsibility for driving and improving internal accounting processes, procedures and internal controls.

As Chief Accountant, you will report directly to the Manager Accounting & Reporting SSC Sweden, Marie Goding. "As a manager, I enjoy leading the team with full trust and close communication. Freedom under responsibility, but full support when needed - that is my view on leadership".

Main tasks

• Responsible for the parent company's accounting according to IFRS and annual accounts according to RFR2
• Ensure quality and compliance in financial reporting to management and external stakeholders
• Be the contact person towards external auditors, authorities and other stakeholders
• Provide expertise in complex transactions that may occur such as acquisitions, mergers and restructurings
• Provide expertise in matters related to VAT and corporate taxation
• Develop and document internal controls, accounting principles and processes at local level to meet the group's requirements
• Supervisory responsibility for a small accounting team
• Responsible for and certifying, and to some extent booking, transactions in the parent company

Qualifications

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have an academic degree in economics, such as a Master of Science in Business Administration or equivalent. Solid experience in qualified accounting, preferably from a listed company or audit firm. You have in-depth knowledge of RFR2 and IFRS, and are confident in dealing with complex accounting issues and legal requirements as well as a good understanding of group accounting and consolidation in an international environment. You express yourself fluently in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.
