Job description

With a proud history and an exciting future, the nuclear industry is the place where you can make a real difference in shaping tomorrow's energy landscape. At AFRY Nuclear, we run projects and perform assignments in several technical areas; mechanical/process, electrical/automation, construction and industry-specific areas such as reactor safety and radioactive waste. We carry out projects of various sizes ranging from component replacements to complex modernization projects.

To our team at Nuclear, which focuses on mechanics, process and building construction, we are now looking for our next colleague who wants to be involved in making a difference for the future of nuclear power. In the role of construction and calculation engineer, you will have the opportunity to work in exciting consulting assignments, mainly in construction, civil engineering and real estate.

The role is technically oriented and may include, among other things, the execution of construction, drawing development, dimensioning and calculations and the production of associated documentation. You will work with, among other things, preparation documents, needs analyses, tender reviews, feasibility studies and investigations for projects. An important part is also to ensure that the regulations and safety regulations that exist in the nuclear power industry are complied with.

You will be part of a committed team consisting of 7 colleagues in Uppsala, Gävle and Västerås. Together we have a broad competence and a close cooperation, both within the group and together with the customers. In the role, you will have great opportunities to grow through complex and long-term assignments in a growing industry in the midst of energy transition. The assignments are generally carried out through a hybrid solution where work from the office is combined with travel to the customers' facilities on a weekly basis.

Qualifications

To succeed in the role, we see that you thrive on immersing yourself in complex issues. You are self-driven and like to take your own initiative to find solutions and drive the work forward. Since you will have parallel tasks and assignments, it is also important that you can plan and structure your work to ensure both efficiency and accuracy. You thrive on collaboration and are happy to contribute knowledge and ideas while being curious to continue learning and developing from others. You are clear in your dialog and value building and nurturing trusting relationships, both with customers and colleagues.

What kind of knowledge and experience do you need?

  • Completed university or civil engineering education in a relevant field, preferably civil engineering
  • Several years of experience in building construction in industry
  • Good ability to perform designs of varying complexity and / or calculations and dimensioning with associated documentation
  • Good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing
  • B driving license

We see it as a merit if you have experience from work in the nuclear power industry or in an industry with high safety requirements.

Since our services may operate in security-classified areas, drug tests and security checks may be required before employment can begin. For all recruitments at AFRY, an ID check, reference checks and verification of education are always carried out as a basis for employment.
