Do you want to help shape the future of hydropower? Hydropower in Sweden is evolving as we move towards a power system with 100% renewable power generation. With 500 hydropower engineers, AFRY is one of the world's largest consulting companies in hydropower and we want to be involved in driving the development in the field. In Sweden, we are about 100 people working with hydropower, of which 6 are in Team Geo, which is now looking for more employees.

We are looking for you who want to develop with us in a role as a consultant and project manager in hydropower. We are looking for you who are interested in learning about hydropower and developing further in project management, together with us who work with geotechnics, filling dams and mining dams.

With us, you will get to work with everything from investigations in early project stages and designs of dam safety-enhancing measures with regard to geotechnics.You will, among other things, work with developing schedules, following up project budgets, being responsible for customer contact, etc. You will also work with, among other things, modeling, calculations, preparing reports and providing support in other projects. As our team is geographically spread out, the project group is largely led remotely.

In this role, you start from our office in Luleå or Solna. Our projects are generally run from the office or home office, but site visits to the plants occur frequently. We offer a stimulating job with challenging assignments in a wonderful team that is located all over the country.

Qualifications

As you will work on several projects at the same time, it is also important that you have a good ability to plan and create structure in your everyday life to manage your projects in the best way, both for you and your customers.

Furthermore, we see that you have:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in project management
  • High school or civil engineering education in civil engineering, road and water or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge in geotechnics
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, as both languages are frequently used within AFRY and with our customers
  • B-driving license as travel is a natural part of the service  

We see the following experiences as meritorious:

  • Previous work with dam safety
  • Basic knowledge of hydrology
  • Previous work in the construction industry
  • Previous experience as a consultant
