Job Description
At AFRY Hydro Nordics, we are facing an exciting future as one of the world’s largest consulting firms in hydropower and dams. In Sweden, we currently have 120 consultants who collectively drive development in hydropower and provide services ranging from early stages—concept and feasibility studies—to execution and implementation, as well as operation and maintenance. This includes expertise across all technical fields, such as geotechnical engineering and earth-fill dams, concrete structures, rock engineering, civil engineering, hydraulics, turbine and generator technology, hydromechanical equipment, and electrical and control systems. AFRY also supports and participates in the NAP process and provides technical services for the design and implementation of facility-specific environmental adaptations throughout the various project phases.
We are now looking for additional colleagues to join our team in Solna who want to grow in a consulting role and drive successful hydropower projects alongside us. In this role, you will work broadly with issues related to hydropower and dams, with a focus on concrete structures throughout all project phases. This may include permit reviews, investigations and feasibility studies, design and construction management, as well as construction supervision and inspections. Your responsibilities may vary depending on the project, as well as your background and interests.
You will be a valuable addition to a dedicated team where you’ll have excellent opportunities to grow, make an impact, and make a difference. We collaborate extensively throughout the country within Hydro and AFRY, as well as through international partnerships. The work is typically performed from the office or a home office, and travel and site visits to the facilities are a natural part of the role.
Qualifications
To thrive and succeed in this role, we believe you enjoy analyzing and delving into complex problems and issues. You’re motivated by learning new things and thrive when faced with new challenges and goals. You have a strong ability to plan and structure your work to ensure both accuracy and efficiency in your projects.
Equally important is that you thrive in a collaborative role with many points of contact. You communicate clearly and empathetically and set clear expectations in your collaborations. Since we operate in a customer-focused business, we also look for someone who enjoys building and developing relationships—both internally and externally—and having an established network within the hydropower industry is a plus.
In addition, we expect you to have:
We consider the following to be advantageous:
Since the position may involve working in security-classified areas, drug testing and a security clearance process—including a criminal background check—may be required in accordance with Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act.
Tests are used in this recruitment process to identify your potential based on personal qualities and problem-solving skills, as well as to ensure an accurate and fair process.
