We at AFRY Nuclear are proud to be one of the largest competence providers to the nuclear power industry in Sweden and the Nordic region. In this role, you will be part of a knowledgeable and committed team of 15 employees and partners, working with nuclear safety, reactor safety and nuclear waste and radiation protection issues. You will work on varied and exciting projects and consultancy assignments with a focus on, among other things:

  • Investigations, analyses and requirements management in nuclear safety
  • Permission and licensing issues and safety presentations
  • Issues related to radioactive waste during operation and decommissioning
  • The opportunity to contribute to technical feasibility studies, with needs analyses and advice, either in multidisciplinary projects or in industry-specific areas such as reactor safety, licensing or radioactive waste

We also see that there may be opportunities for you to work with system and plant understanding in nuclear safety as well as with mission management or as an investigation leader. The position is based at our headquarters in Solna. Travel to our customers' nuclear power plants occurs as a natural part of the service.

Qualifications

In addition to these personal competencies, we are looking for you who have:

  • Work experience in the energy industry or a civil or university engineering degree with an energy focus
  • A couple of years of experience in nuclear power or other industry with high safety requirements and strict safety standards
  • Good knowledge of either nuclear waste, licensing issues and/or safety reports
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, as both languages are frequently used within AFRY and with our clients

We see it as a merit if you have:

  • Experience/knowledge of the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority's regulations and requirements
  • Education/have done doctoral research in the energy or environmental field
  • Previous work experience of either nuclear facilities, nuclear waste management, radiation protection, radiological issues and/or dispersion calculations
  • B driving license, as travel is a natural part of the position

As the position operates in security classified areas, you will undergo drug tests and security clearances before employment can begin. To work in security classified areas such as this, Swedish citizenship is required.
