Job Description

Would you like to help support companies in their sustainability efforts and contribute to reducing the environmental and climate impact of industry? We are now looking for a committed and driven consultant in sustainability and chemicals who wants to work closely with our clients on environmental legislation, chemical management, and environmental improvement initiatives.

As a consultant with us, you will support our clients in ensuring compliance with environmental and chemical requirements and developing approaches for more sustainable and resource-efficient business practices. You will have a varied role where you work both operationally and strategically with environmental and chemical issues across various industries.

Assignments vary over time but may include:

  • Ensuring compliance with legislation and internal policies, including conducting compliance checks and audits
  • Reporting to authorities in areas such as hazardous waste, chemicals, packaging, and environmental protection costs
  • Collecting and compiling climate and environmental data in accordance with applicable standards, such as GRI
  • Managing chemical handling, including chemical inventories and safety data sheets
  • Conducting compliance assessments related to environmental and chemical legislation
  • Support operations in improvement efforts related to methodology, processes, writing procedures, and implementing activities to reduce environmental and chemical impact
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop action plans.

Who are we? 

Our Compliance & Quality Management (CQM) section consists of approximately 20 employees in the Mälardalen region, Malmö, and Gothenburg. Our team, which includes everyone from recent graduates to senior professionals, possesses a broad range of expertise in sustainability, quality, compliance, and business development. We work with products throughout their entire lifecycle as well as processes across the company’s organization in various industries and organizations.  

Qualifications

 We would like you to have:

  • Relevant college degree in environmental science, chemistry, sustainability, engineering, or equivalent
  • At least 3 – 5 years of experience working in the fields of environment, sustainability, or chemical management, preferably in the manufacturing industry or as a consultant
  • Strong knowledge of environmental and chemical regulations such as REACH, RoHS, WEEE, and CSRD.
  • Ability to interpret and apply legal requirements in practice
  • Experience with environmental reporting and sustainability data
  • Experience driving improvement initiatives and coordinating activities in the environmental and chemical fields
  • Fluency in spoken and written Swedish and English

We would be especially pleased if you also have:

  • Experience with chemical risk assessments
  • Experience working in accordance with ISO 14001
  • Knowledge of California Proposition 65 and other non-European legislation
