Job description

Now there is once again the chance to apply for the Trainee program in Defence Technology with start at the end of August 2026.  This is an opening for you to enter an expansive and eventful business area within AFRY where you are given the opportunity to quickly learn, both get an overview and be able to dive deep into areas developed for you in your career!

Defence Technology continues its successful TRAINEE PROGRAM during which you for just over 4 months will both participate in and run various activities and projects within Defence Technology at AFRY. Continuously during the period, you will participate in a number of training courses such as project management and consultancy.  

Defence Technology is an area within AFRY that consists of Defence & Security, Security & Robust Communication and Asset Management. A large part of our business area has a focus on defense technology and societal security and we work towards the defense industry to create a safer Sweden.

Goals of the trainee program:

• Speed up the transition from new graduate to becoming a "Young Professional"
• Offer internal training linked to the activities we conduct
• Opportunities to be part of, get insight into different consulting projects within our different business directions within Defence Technology
• Create an internal culture for "Young Professionals" and support the development and skills supply through the program

 Structure of the program: 

• Kick off
• Part 1 & 2: Consulting School
• Part 3: Project Management 
• Part 4-6: Defense Engineering Consultant
  • Systems Engineering
  • Defense Logistics
  • Systems Security and Integrated Logistics Support
  • Cyber Security
• Asset Management & ISO5500 
• External projects (1-2 different projects)
• Case studies - Current situation analysis etc
• 2-3 meetings
• Take part in internal projects

You get to try out our different areas, get to know us and test the role of a consultant. At the same time, you will get an insight into the everyday life of an engineer. In addition, you will have a sponsor, or a Buddy who has previously completed this trainee program who can guide you. The program is on site at our head office in Solna. 

If you are the right person, there is the possibility of being permanently employed after the trainee period. Role and area we decide together with you based on your interests and based on our conditions. 

Qualifications

We are aimed at both those who are newly graduated or soon to graduate, as well as those who may have worked for a few years after graduation.

Basic requirements are that you have at least a Master's or Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, Systems in Technology and Society, Computer Engineering or equivalent, or a Master's in Political Science and have an interest in getting to know a large international technology and design company.

You are a good communicator and have a good command of English and Swedish.

To thrive and succeed as a trainee, we believe that you collaborate well and are a person who takes initiative and has a great interest in technical problem solving. Drive to move forward in what you do, learn new things and want to achieve results are also important factors.

You have an interest in learning more about the defense industry, as we are an actor who works for a stronger total defense and safer Sweden.

Security clearance &; Education verification:

Security clearance with register check will be carried out before employment as you will come into contact with security-classified assignments within AFRY. We also do a verification of education.
