Job description

At AFRY in Västerås, we are now looking for an electrical designer who will be a key person in our projects. You will work with automation solutions for industries and other customers where you ensure the electrical design needs from the first idea to the finished plant.

As an electrical designer, you will be a central part of our assignments, sometimes throughout the entire project process - from sales support to commissioning - and sometimes as a specialist in specific parts of ongoing projects. The work is varied, with both longer assignments that provide continuity and shorter efforts in different projects. You are mainly based in our office in Västerås, but assignments can also involve work at the customer or remotely."

In the role, you are expected to take a driving position and have overall responsibility for electrical design, commissioning and documentation. You will be an important mentor for our junior colleagues and actively contribute to knowledge sharing within the team. You will be supported through AFRY's competence forum, where you can exchange experiences with senior engineers and develop your own skills. The role may in the future also include security classified assignments. 

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are results-oriented, with a focus on achieving goals and maintaining productivity even when challenges arise. You have good problem-solving skills, handle complex situations and use your experience flexibly. You are also proactive, take your own decisions and act confidently even when not everything is planned in detail. 

Requirements 

Work experience:  

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in electrical design in industrial production facilities 

Education:  

  • Relevant formal education in electrical/electrical design/electrical power, or equivalent practical experience 

System knowledge:  

  • Experience with  AutoCAD tools 
  • Ability to handle and understand customer requirements drawings and documentation systems 

Language skills:  

  • Swedish and English in speech and writing 

Advantageous 

Work experience:  

  • Experience working in a project environment 
  • Experience in automation projects related to industrial drive systems 
  • Process experience from manufacturing industry, process industry and water & wastewater 

Education:  

  • Engineering degree in electrical/electrical engineering/electrical power with industrial specialization 

Systems knowledge:  

  • Elprocad 
  • EPLAN 
  • Sitebase 
  • AutoCAD Electrical 
  • E3 
  • Insyde
