Job description

Grid Integration, Substation & Distribution (GISD) is part of AFRY's Transmission & Distribution business in Sweden. We are over 140 electric power specialists who together work across the country with projects in electricity networks - from transmission networks to local distribution - and contribute to the development of the electrified society of the future.

Do you want to work with advanced analyzes and technical investigations in the energy system of the future? We are looking for an electric power consultant who wants to work with complex grid connections, power quality, simulations and energy storage systems (BESS). With us, you will have an important role in projects that contribute to the development of a more electrified society.

As an electric power consultant, you work with technical analyzes and system studies for customers in energy, industry and electricity grid companies. The assignments range from early feasibility studies and analyzes to technical specifications, requirements and support in the implementation of solutions in the energy system. The work is done both independently and together with other specialists in electric power, system studies, station design, energy storage and grid expansion.

Our assignments include, among other things, grid connections for new electricity production, large industrial facilities and energy storage systems where analyzes of grid impact, power quality and requirements linked to grid code compliance are central parts. In the role, you will work with analyses linked to complex grid connections for production plants, industry and energy storage systems. The work also includes power quality analyses such as voltage variations, harmonics, flicker and transients, as well as advanced EMT analyses, as well as interpretation and application of regulations and grid codes such as RfG/NC RfG.

You develop technical specifications and system descriptions and carry out analyses linked to inverter-based plants, such as BESS systems and their integration into the electricity grid. The role also involves collaboration with grid owners, authorities and suppliers on connection processes, requirements and standards, as well as technical support for investments, procurements and decisions.

With us, you get to work on technically advanced projects in an industry that is at the center of the energy transition. You will be part of a consulting environment with competent colleagues and good opportunities for skills development, while you get great freedom to influence both your own development and how the assignments are carried out.

The service can be based in Bollnäs, Kalmar, Norrköping, Solna, Sundsvall, Umeå, Visby or Östersund.

Qualifications

We see that you who apply have:

    ;

    • Engineering degree in electric power, energy or other relevant field, or equivalent work experience
    • At least 3-5 years of experience in electric power, preferably with a focus on grid connections, power quality or system analysis
    • Good knowledge of regional grids, transmission grids or large industrial electricity plants
    • Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations
    • Understanding of how the electricity grid is affected by large loads, production plants and energy storage systems
    • Good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both in speech and writing
    • Driving license B

    It is meritorious if you have experience of system studies and calculations in, for example, short circuit, stability, dynamics or protection coordination, and if you have worked with stations of 130 kV and up. Knowledge of BESS design, dimensioning or integration into power grids is also an advantage.

    As a person, you are businesslike, self-driven and confident in your role as a consultant. You work in a structured and quality-conscious manner, build trusting customer relationships and collaborate unpretentiously with colleagues.
