Job Description
AFRY Hydro Nordics is one of the world’s largest consulting firms in the field of hydropower. We provide services ranging from early stages—such as concept development and feasibility studies—to execution, implementation, and operation and maintenance. This includes expertise across all technical fields, including civil engineering, hydraulics, turbine and generator technology, hydromechanical equipment, and electrical and control systems.
In the Hydro Power Automation team, we currently have 9 electrical power engineers in Enköping who work with magnetization equipment as well as electrical and control systems. We are now looking for our next colleague who wants to become part of our dedicated team and contribute to the development of hydropower through sustainable electrical design solutions.
In this role, you will manage delivery projects for electrical and control equipment for hydropower plants. Our projects vary in size, and since we work with customized and plant-specific solutions, this role offers both variety and opportunities for professional growth. This role focuses on electrical design, testing, and commissioning, where you’ll help design the technical solutions, from the early stages through to the completed facility. You’ll collaborate with project managers and external partners, review technical documents and design specifications, and ensure technical quality and electrical safety.
Much of the work is performed at our office, but the option to work from home is available to the extent that it’s feasible for the tasks at hand. Site visits and weekly travel within Sweden—and occasionally throughout the Nordic region—are also part of the role.
Qualifications
To succeed and thrive in this role, we’re looking for someone who enjoys problem-solving in a technology-focused role. You are eager to learn new things and grow, and you proactively seek out opportunities to do so. You are meticulous with an eye for detail and have a solution-oriented approach. You collaborate well in a team, communicate clearly, and value building strong, long-term relationships with both colleagues and customers.
Additionally, we expect you to have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering with a focus on electrical power, or several years of experience in electrical design within the industrial sector. You have a good command of Swedish and English, as well as a Class B driver’s license.
We consider the following to be a plus:
