Job Description

Would you like to help shape the industry of the future through advanced automation and electrical systems? AFRY Advanced Automation in Borlänge is now looking for an electrical engineer who wants to play a key role in our projects and contribute both technical expertise and leadership.

AFRY Advanced Automation is part of AFRY’s commitment to innovative and sustainable solutions for industry. We work closely with our clients to develop efficient, safe, and future-proof facilities that contribute to increased productivity, energy efficiency, and long-term sustainability. Our team consists of specialists in automation, electrical design, mechanical design, and project management who together deliver complex projects to some of Sweden’s leading industrial companies.

As an electrical engineer, you will have overall responsibility for the electrical design in our projects, from early concept studies and technical decisions to final delivery and commissioning. You will work to develop technical solutions, ensure high-quality deliverables, and create the conditions for efficient project execution.

The role involves significant technical responsibility, where you will serve as a specialist in electrical design while also acting as a natural coordinating force within the project team. You will collaborate closely with project managers, automation engineers, design engineers, and customers to ensure that projects are carried out in accordance with established goals, schedules, and quality requirements.

An important part of the role is to provide structure and technical guidance for the projects. You will plan and coordinate the design work within your area of responsibility, monitor progress, and ensure that the solutions meet both customer requirements and applicable standards. You will also have the opportunity to support and develop less experienced colleagues through knowledge sharing and technical coaching.

The work is varied and can range from major investment projects in the process and manufacturing industries to modernization, renovation, and optimization of existing facilities. You’ll work both from our office in Borlänge and in close collaboration with clients and colleagues within AFRY’s national organization.

At AFRY, you’ll have the opportunity to work on technically advanced projects alongside dedicated colleagues who are driven by collaboration, innovation, and development. We offer an environment where you’ll have significant influence over your work while also being given excellent opportunities to continue developing your skills in both engineering and leadership.

Qualifications

In this role, it is important that you have a strong sense of planning and structure. You work methodically, set realistic expectations, and break down complex tasks into clear steps and milestones. Attention to detail and precision are integral parts of your approach.     We also value integrity. You prioritize the team’s and the organization’s goals and always act in a professional and responsible manner. Your ability to prioritize the big picture makes you a reliable and dependable resource in projects.

Finally, communication is a key competency. You express yourself openly and honestly, listen to others’ perspectives, and create space for dialogue. By providing constructive feedback, you contribute to an environment where everyone can grow and perform at their best.
