AFRY Industry is now looking for more competent employees in Umeå - Become part of the team!

To strengthen our investment in the north, we need to expand our business with more designers and project managers in Electrical Power. Do you want to work with medium voltage systems in a high-tech industrial environment? 

We are looking for you who are an electrical power designer with experience or great interest in medium voltage systems in an industrial environment. As a designer, you will be a key person in our customers' investment and maintenance projects where electrical power infrastructure is a crucial part of operational safety. You will work with technical solutions from feasibility study to finished plant in a business where electrical safety, availability and future-proofing are in focus.

We offer interesting and challenging tasks where we help our customers create smart engineering solutions. Our projects and assignments are both local and global, which means that you will have the opportunity to try out assignments in new areas in teams with colleagues around Sweden and the world. 

Your tasks may be to:

• Project electrical power solutions in the medium voltage range (1-52 kV) for the industry's internal electricity distribution network
• Dimension cables, transformers, switchgear and other equipment according to current standards and technical requirements
• Prepare technical documentation such as drawings, schematics, material specifications and load calculations
• Support project managers and plant owners in procurement, calculation, scheduling and installation work
• Participate in technical feasibility studies, risk analysis and requirement setting in new and refurbishment projects
• Coordinate with the customer's internal departments, such as electrical operations, maintenance and production to ensure technical quality and operational safety
• Participate in the follow-up of contracts, installation checks, FAT/SAT tests and commissioning
• Continuously improve design procedures and technical standards in the field of electrical power
• Comply with electrical safety legislation, ESA, high voltage regulations and internal guidelines

Qualifications

Mandatory requirements

• Post-secondary technical education in electrical power or equivalent (YH, university or civil engineering)
• Practical or theoretical experience in electrical power design (e.g. switchgear, substations, power generation, etc. Practical or theoretical experience in electric power design (e.g. switchgear, substations, power cables)
• Understanding of medium voltage systems (1-52 kV)
• Experience working with CAD-based drawing systems (e.g. ELPROCAD, MagiCAD, EPLAN or similar)
• Basic knowledge and understanding of standards and regulations in electric power (e.g. ESA, Swedish Electrical Safety Authority, SSA). ESA, Elsäkerhetsverket, SS-EN-standards)
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing
• B-driving license

Advanced desirable experience

• Experience of electrical power project planning in an industrial environment.
• Knowledge of relay protection, selective plans and short circuit calculations
• Experience in project coordination with electrical contractors and electrical installers
• Experience in working in project form together with project managers and maintenance department
• Knowledge of SCADA systems, documentation systems (e.g. PDM)
• Experience in technical requirements and procurement
