Job Description

Our Electrical, Instrumentation & Automation department at AFRY currently consists of a team of electrical, instrumentation, and automation engineers based in Norrköping and Linköping. We handle everything from design and engineering to commissioning and technical support in the process and manufacturing industries, the energy sector, and other industrial segments. With us, you’ll be part of a team that values collaboration, knowledge sharing, and a positive work environment. We are part of Pulp & Paper Sweden and deliver both project-based and PS assignments to a broad customer base in the region. As an electrical power design engineer with us, you’ll work on electrical design assignments primarily in the Industry and Energy segments. Assignments vary in size and scope, ranging from feasibility studies and preliminary design to new construction and retrofit projects. Work is conducted both in-house and on-site at the client’s location. Examples of responsibilities •    Electrical Power and Electrical Design  •    Analyses and technical studies •    Short-circuit calculations and cable sizing •    Selective protection plans  •    Circuit and connection diagrams, layouts, cable lists, and connection tables •    Equipment selection and technical specifications •    Participation in acceptance testing, commissioning, and start-up The team consists of knowledgeable and dedicated colleagues with a good mix of junior and senior experience. You’ll have access to support from experienced engineers and specialists in instrumentation, electrical engineering, and control systems, as well as from other AFRY offices as needed. We primarily work on a project basis and collaborate closely with other technical disciplines and geographic regions within AFRY. The combination of broad technical expertise and varied assignments offers you excellent opportunities for professional development—both in your current role and in the long term, such as through specialization in instrumentation or taking on greater responsibility in projects. You’ll have the opportunity to follow projects from start to finish—from concept and design to commissioning and final inspection.  

Qualifications

To be a good fit for this role with us, we believe you have:

• Several years of experience in electrical power or electrical design, transformers, switchgear, motors, and drive systems 
• Proficiency with AutoCAD
• Relevant technical education from high school, vocational college, or university, or equivalent experience
• Language skills: spoken and written Swedish; English is a plus

It is an asset if you have:

• Experience with design tools such as Comos, Eplan, or Insyde
• Courses or training in EL-Vis, Febdok, Netkoll, or Neplan
