Job Description

Are you an experienced electronics developer who wants to work with advanced hardware design in exciting technology fields such as MedTech, defense, telecommunications, and the aerospace industry? Then this could be the next step for you. We work in cross-functional development teams where continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing are a natural part of everyday life.

In the role of Electronics Developer, you will design and develop high-quality electronics that meet our customers’ needs. As a full-time employee at AFRY, you’ll have the opportunity to work either within our internal project delivery organization or directly at our clients’ sites. Our clients span a wide range of industries—from MedTech (R&D), telecommunications, the aerospace industry, and machinery and equipment manufacturing to defense, the automotive industry, and consumer products.

At AFRY, you’ll become part of a global network of over 700 embedded consultants, while maintaining close contact with your manager and colleagues at our office in Västerås.

As a consultant at AFRY, you’ll work either on our own projects or on-site at a client’s location. To thrive in this role, you need to be a team player who is communicative and enjoys collaboration. We also value curiosity, a willingness to take on new challenges, and a comfort with working in an environment where you can combine your technical expertise with problem-solving.

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone with a college degree in electronics, electrical engineering, or a related field, and who has several years of experience in electronics development. You are accustomed to working with hardware design throughout the entire development process and thrive in an environment where technology, innovation, and collaboration are the focus.

To succeed in this role, we expect you to have:

  • A master’s or bachelor’s degree in electronics, electrical engineering, or a related field.

  • At least 5 years of experience in hardware design.

  • Experience in analog and digital design.

  • Experience in PCB design and working with CAD tools.

Experience with the following is also a plus:

  • MATLAB/Simulink

  • FPGA/VHDL

  • Hands-on lab work and verification of electronics

As a person, you are curious, solution-oriented, and enjoy collaborating with colleagues from various technical fields. You appreciate the opportunity to grow through varied assignments and to contribute your expertise to both client projects and internal deliverables.
