AFRY is looking for committed environmental consultants who want to help shape a sustainable future and contribute to the green transition. We are currently looking for our new colleague in the areas of natural environment, contaminated areas, EIA / permits, cultural environment or sustainability, with location Gävle. We are looking for both senior and intermediate colleagues and attach great importance to the fact that you as a person will contribute and complement our team.

Our business area Environment and Sustainability operates throughout Sweden, with customers in both the private, municipal and government sectors. We work with, among other things, mines, power line projects, community building, landfill operations, roads and railways, fossil-free steel, data centers, solar power and onshore and offshore wind power. Our environmental expertise also supports other business areas in industry, energy and infrastructure within AFRY.

As an environmental consultant, your tasks vary and you get to participate in projects, both locally and nationally. The assignments range from field work and inventories, community development, environmental soil surveys, remediation investigations, remediation, environmental controls, risk assessments, and handling of notification and permit cases. You can work in contaminated land, ecology/natural value inventories, cultural environment, environmental impact assessments, consultations and permit cases as well as holistically in sustainability.

In the role, you are given great responsibility and you get to participate in the entire process - from planning to execution and you always work in teams with your colleagues.

We are looking for you who enjoy combining theory and practice, prefer to spend time outdoors, especially if your specialist area is contaminated land or nature issues, and that you are motivated by working for the environment and the development of society. With us, you will be involved in developing innovative and sustainable solutions, while having the chance to develop your skills and interact with AFRY's wide network of specialists.

Qualifications

Our requirements for the selection of candidates are that you have:

• An academic, scientific or technical education with a degree in the environmental or cultural environment field. We also welcome applicants with professional training in environment and contaminated sites.
• Good knowledge of Swedish environmental legislation
• Experience of working in the environmental field as described above for 5 years or more
• Experience of working as a project manager or project manager
• Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both in speech and writing
• Like to be out in the field if your focus is contaminated areas or nature, which may also involve travel within the country
• Location Gävle, indicate in the application if you live or intend to live near Gävle
• B-driving license

It is meritorious, if you have:

• Previously worked as a consultant
• Experience of natural value inventories, good knowledge of birds or other species,  experience of sampling soil  and ground and surface water or SGF certification courses
• Have your own customer contacts or can contribute with references from previous work
• A distinctly social and collaborative personality that thrives best in dynamic team environments, where collaboration and knowledge exchange are in focus. Have a genuine commitment to support and guide more junior colleagues, and actively contribute to their development through supervision, mentoring and experience sharing.
