Job description

AFRY is looking for committed environmental consultants who want to contribute to the green transition and a sustainable society. We offer a modern workplace with challenging assignments, exciting projects and good opportunities for skills development. We are now looking for a junior or senior colleague with a focus on contaminated areas, located in Falun, Ludvika or Sundsvall. You will be part of a larger section with environmental consultants operating from Ludvika to Umeå, where cooperation and team spirit are central.

The Environment and Sustainability business area operates throughout Sweden and works with customers in the private, municipal and government sectors. Our assignments include mines, community building, infrastructure, fossil-free steel and renewable energy such as solar and wind power. Our environmental expertise also supports other business areas within AFRY.

As an environmental consultant, you will participate in projects at both local and national level. The tasks include field work, environmental soil surveys, remedial investigations, remediation, risk assessments and notification and permit matters. The focus is on contaminated land, with the opportunity to also work in ecology, EIA, consultation and sustainability issues.

The role involves great personal responsibility and work throughout the assignment process, in close collaboration with colleagues both locally and nationally.

Qualifications

Our requirements for the selection of candidates are that you have:

  • Experience working as a project manager or project manager, with the ability to organize complex projects, manage schedules and coordinate multiple stakeholders
  • Location in Falun, Ludvika or Sundsvall
  • Academic, scientific or technical education with a degree in the environmental field. Professional training in the environment and contaminated areas is also meritorious
  • Good knowledge of soil science, geochemistry and the behavior of contaminants in soil and groundwater
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish, in both speech and writing
  • Good knowledge of Swedish environmental legislation
  • A minimum of five years of documented experience in environmental consulting with a focus on assessment and remediation of soil contamination
  • Enjoy field work, which also involves travel within the country
  • B-driving license

It is meritorious, but not a requirement, if you have:

  • Experience as a technical manager in major infrastructure projects
  • Good understanding of soil remediation techniques and treatment methods (in situ and ex situ)
  • Experience in master studies or other grant-funded projects
  • Experience in soil and ground and surface water sampling and/or SGF certification courses
  • Own client contacts or ability to contribute with references
  • Experience in dialog with clients and other stakeholders, including presentation of assignments and recommendations
