Job Description

We’re looking for someone who wants to be part of AFRY’s exciting future. Are you passionate about solving environmental challenges and contributing to the society of the future? Do you want to take the lead in technical development where the environment, sustainability, and digital solutions intersect? Then you’ll have the opportunity to do this alongside other #teamplayers in AFRY’s Environment business area.

Within the Environment business area, AFRY offers specialized consulting services in the areas of contaminated sites, as well as environment and sustainability. In Karlskrona, AFRY currently has consultants in a division that handles notification and permitting matters, water and air assessments, environmental impact statements, environmental studies, environmental soil investigations, environmental inspections, risk assessments, sustainability, auditing, and quality management. Our clients are found in the private, municipal, and government sectors.

As an environmental consultant at AFRY, your assignments can vary and range from wind power, solar power, industry, and various water-related activities to infrastructure projects in rail and road, as well as environmental assessments for planning matters. You’ll have the opportunity to participate in various assignments at the local, regional, and national levels. We’ll empower you to take on significant responsibility, and you’re welcome to assume a project management role, maintain client contacts, and—if interested—work on international assignments. If you have specialized expertise, there’s an opportunity to contribute to the development of our service offerings.   

Together with other consultants at AFRY, you’ll be part of a comprehensive solution and will have the opportunity to develop an understanding of the various components of a project. We’re looking for a bold and dedicated team player who enjoys sharing knowledge and helping others grow. 

Qualifications

To succeed and thrive in your role as an environmental consultant, we’re looking for someone who has:

• a bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, sustainable development, or a related field,
• at least three years of professional experience in the environmental field,
• a solid understanding of permitting processes 
• a strong ability to present reports and results both in writing and orally,
• an analytical and strategic mindset with a strong ability to identify opportunities and solutions that add value for our clients,
• strong proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written,
• Class B driver’s license

It is a plus, but not a requirement, if you have several years of experience:

• working as a project manager or account manager,
• working as an environmental consultant or environmental manager at a company or government agency,
• working with clients and other stakeholders to discuss and present projects and provide recommendations.
