Within the business area Environment, AFRY offers qualified consulting services within environment & sustainability and contaminated areas. In Gothenburg/Halmstad/Malmö, AFRY currently has 4 sections that work with notification and permit cases, water and air investigations, environmental impact assessments, environmental investigations, environmental soil surveys, environmental controls, risk assessments, sustainability, auditing, environmental management and quality management. Our clients are found in the private as well as the municipal and government sectors.

As an environmental consultant at AFRY, your assignments can vary and involve everything from wind power, solar power, industries and various water activities to infrastructure projects in rail and road and environmental assessments in planning cases. You will have the opportunity to participate in various assignments both locally, regionally and nationally. We allow you to take on a great deal of responsibility and you are welcome to take on the role of project manager, have customer contacts and, if interested, also work on international assignments. If you have a particular specialist competence, there is the opportunity to participate in the development of our range of services.

Qualifications

To succeed well and thrive in your role as an environmental consultant, we are looking for you who have:

  • university or civil engineering degree in chemistry, biology. environmental science, environmental engineering or equivalent,
  • at least three years of professional experience in the environmental field,
  • experience in recipient investigations, MKN investigations for water and hydromorphological investigations linked to water
  • very good ability to present investigations and results in writing and orally,
  • an analytical and strategic mindset with a good ability to see opportunities and solutions that add value to our customers,
  • good knowledge of Swedish and English, both in speech and writing,
  • B-driving license

It is meritorious, but not a requirement, if you have experience of:

  • good knowledge of water investigations, permit processes and environmental impact assessments related to chapter 11
  • have worked with different types of modeling tools for water investigations
  • investigations linked to ecotoxicology
  • work as a project manager or assignment manager
  • work as an environmental consultant or at the authority 
  • working with clients and other stakeholders to discuss and present assignments and make recommendations
  • having worked with environmental issues in industry
