Job Description

We are looking for an experienced automation engineer to join our team! We are responsible for developing and commissioning automation solutions for our industrial clients and now need to strengthen our team with a confident and knowledgeable colleague.  

At AFRY, you’ll have a variety of tasks within industrial automation. In this role, you will work with system design and programming of PLC, HMI, SCADA, and robotics applications. You will also participate in the commissioning and troubleshooting of these systems, both on-site at the customer’s location and on projects from the office.  

A typical workweek can include everything from preparing bids and developing technical solutions to working on projects in a team or performing urgent troubleshooting at a client’s site. In some cases, you may also be seconded to a customer to strengthen their organization.  

We’re looking for someone who wants to contribute their experience while being part of a dedicated and supportive team. You will play a key role in creating stability and a broad range of expertise within a team with a young average age. Over time, there is an opportunity to advance into specialist roles or become a versatile technical resource and mentor for colleagues and clients—depending on your interests.  

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who collaborates easily with colleagues, suppliers, and subcontractors, and who communicates clearly and simply with everyone who needs information—or actively seeks it out when necessary. You can handle stress well and remain calm even in high-pressure situations, while thinking logically and systematically. In addition, you are ambitious and willing to take a leading role in programming work without needing to be asked—you drive the work forward with dedication and a sense of responsibility. 

Requirements 

• At least 5 years of programming experience with PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems  
• Good command of Swedish, both spoken and written  
• Experience with troubleshooting and commissioning in industrial environments  

Desirable  

• Experience with robot programming  
• Knowledge of one or more of the following systems: ABB, Siemens, Allen Bradley, Intouch, Citect, Ignition  
• Spoken and written English
