Job Description

For many years, AFRY has successfully supported both Swedish and international energy producers, and we are now stepping up our efforts for further expansion in this exciting and rapidly growing market!

Within the Nuclear Nordics sector, we focus on nuclear power. Our day-to-day work consists of challenging assignments in reactor safety, safety analyses, technical investigations, and project management. We enjoy a unique position of trust with our clients and work in very close collaboration with them as they plan for both new construction and reactor life extensions.

About the Role

We are now seeking an Electrical Engineer for consulting assignments in the nuclear power industry, primarily in Sweden but with international opportunities as well. You will be based in Gothenburg or Varberg.

As an electrical design engineer with us, you’ll enjoy a varied workday where you’ll handle everything from preliminary studies and analyses to new design projects, renovations, and expansions, as well as inspections. Projects vary in both size and nature—some are carried out on-site at our clients’ locations (for example, at Ringhals), while others are in-house projects at our own offices.

We offer stimulating and rewarding work involving complex technical challenges as part of a strong and wonderful team!

Your Profile

We’re looking for someone with a master’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering (or equivalent education) in electrical engineering or automation, and who has at least 3 years of qualified professional experience in electrical design within the industrial sector.

To succeed in this role, you must be comfortable taking responsibility for both detailed and system design. You have strong knowledge of CAD design, and experience with Elmaster or EPlan is a major plus.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or equivalent vocational education with relevant experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in electrical design within the industrial sector.
  • Experience with CAD tools for electrical design.
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Class B driver’s license (as travel is part of the job).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in the nuclear power industry with a focus on plant and system knowledge.
  • Experience with Elmaster or EPlan.

Personal Qualities

At AFRY, we are guided by our core values: BRAVE, DEVOTED, TEAM PLAYERS.

To thrive with us, you’re a driven, committed, and flexible person who enjoys managing multiple projects simultaneously. You work in a structured and analytical manner and are a true team player. You have a genuine interest in building strong relationships—both internally with your colleagues and externally with our clients.
