Job Description

AFRY is seeking dedicated environmental consultants who want to help shape a sustainable future and contribute to the green transition. We offer a modern workplace with exciting projects and excellent opportunities for professional development. We are now looking for an experienced colleague with a focus on contaminated sites, based in Norrköping or Linköping. You will be part of a larger team of environmental consultants also active in Västerås and Örebro, where collaboration and team spirit are central.

AFRY’s “Environment & Sustainability” business area is present throughout the country, with offices ranging from Malmö in the southto Kiruna in the north, and through close collaboration between different technical disciplines, we together form a strong whole. We work broadly within the service area of environment and sustainability. On behalf of our clients, we handle notification and permitting matters, environmental impact assessments and reports, cultural heritage analyses and investigations in cultural environments, environmental and natural resource studies, water and air quality studies, contaminated sites, environmental soil investigations, environmental inspections, risk assessments and remediation studies, climate calculations, and sustainability assessments. We also have several different technical forums where we help each other grow and share knowledge and experience.

Our clients are found in the private, municipal, and government sectors. We also offer our environmental expertise to other business areas within AFRY.

We are looking for an experienced environmental consultant specializing in contaminated sites. As part of our team, you will play a central role in leading assignments or serving as a specialist on projects. The main focus of the role as an experienced environmental consultant in contaminated sites is project management and development work, where you will work closely with our clients to identify, analyze, and manage environmental risks.

With us, you’ll be part of a skilled team with experienced colleagues both locally and nationally. Together, you’ll work to develop sustainable solutions for contaminated sites. You will also be expected to contribute to knowledge sharing by training and developing less experienced colleagues.

Qualifications

Our requirements for candidate selection are that you have:

  • Experience working as a project manager or team leader
  • Academic, natural science, or technical education with a degree in the environmental field. Vocational training in the environment and contaminated sites is also a plus
  • Good knowledge of soil science, geochemistry, and the behavior of contaminants in soil and groundwater
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
  • Good knowledge of Swedish environmental legislation
  • At least five years of documented experience in environmental consulting with a focus on the assessment and remediation of soil contamination
  • Class B driver’s license

It is advantageous, but not a requirement, if you have:

  • Experience as a technical manager on major infrastructure projects
  • Good understanding of soil remediation techniques and treatment methods (in situ and ex situ)
  • Experience with master’s theses or other grant-funded projects
  • Experience with soil, groundwater, and surface water sampling and/or SGF certification courses
  • Your own client contacts or the ability to provide references
  • Experience engaging with clients and other stakeholders, including presenting assignments and recommendations
