Job Description

Within the Environment business area, AFRY offers specialized consulting services in the fields of the environment and sustainability. There is very high demand for specialized expertise in environmental assessments for industrial operations, and we are therefore looking for someone who wants to help us further develop our offerings in this area.

As an experienced environmental consultant with us, you will primarily work on projects related to industrial operations—such as permitting processes, environmental assessments, periodic inspections, and strategic early-stage consulting. Assignments may also include the energy and infrastructure sectors, such as wind and solar power, water operations, and road and rail projects.

The role offers great variety and autonomy, where you will both lead your own assignments and collaborate within larger project teams. You’ll maintain close dialogue with clients and government agencies and have the opportunity to take on a leadership role in projects. For those interested, there are also opportunities to contribute to business development and the expansion of our service offerings, particularly in the area of industrial environmental assessment.

AFRY has a large and cohesive group of environmental consultants who collaborate nationwide. Through this collaboration, we ensure high quality in our projects and create favorable conditions for knowledge exchange, sharing of experience, and continued development in the field.

Qualifications

To succeed and thrive in your role as an environmental consultant, we are looking for someone who has:

• a bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, sustainable development, or a related field,
• at least three years of professional experience in the environmental field,
• solid knowledge of permitting processes and environmental impact assessments,
• excellent ability to present studies and results both in writing and orally,
• an analytical and strategic mindset with a strong ability to identify opportunities and solutions that add value for our clients,
• proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written,
• a Class B driver’s license

It is a plus, but not a requirement, if you have several years of experience:

• working as a project manager or assignment manager,
• working as an environmental consultant or environmental manager at a company or government agency,
• working with clients and other stakeholders to discuss and present projects and provide recommendations.
